and Fauna:
A wild flower centre with examples of almost all native Cyprus plants including all the Orchids. (This website isn't always available) Website with information on the local and migratory birds found in Cyprus, it's a bird lovers paradise. The site can sometimes be unavailable. A project to help the beleaguered sea-turtles of the Mediterranean based at Alagadi beach North Cyprus.

Activities:
Fully guided walks throughout the Kyrenia mountains. Various options for organised hill-walking with experienced guides. Tandem Paragliding has recently started on the island with Highline Air Tours. There is a large international standard go-cart track at Güzelyurt. See their website for details. |

As well as the activities shown that have websites, there are many others. There are organised wild-flower walks in the Besparmak mountains. At Escape Beach (about 10 minutes by car from Girne) there are various watersports available, including canoe hire, water skiing and banana rides. See the link for Dolphin watersports for more info. There are a number of other dive schools around the island. There is a nine hole golf course at Yesilyurt (just past Güzelyurt in the west of the island) Cost about £9 for a day ticket. There are a few discos / night clubs, largely confined to Nicosia, Kyrenia and Famagusta. There are quite a few Casinos - mainly in the large hotels.
